My work is simple in form, a three dimensional canvas to hold a painting.
I am fascinated by body movements, by the clouds in the sky, and by the many shapes each create as they move. Some of my paintings are glaze overlaps, which serve to create an abstract design that appears to dance inside a piece. My white paintings are cloud formations in the sky. These white paintings were inspired by the cloud formations that formed as we scattered my father’s ashes.
I feel that there is an artist in everyone. I found the artist in me, and it changed my life.

Description of work

My work is functional, and simple in form. I use each piece as a three dimensional canvas to hold a painting.
My pieces are made on the potter’s wheel, and I use porcelain clay.
Some of my glazing techniques are glaze overlaps, which create an abstract design, dancing inside the piece.
My white paintings are done with wax resist.
I use a simple red glaze, with a splash of a purple glaze on some of my work.
And on other work, I paint on the piece with a blue slip, or a black slip.
I work at Mudflat Studio in Somerville, MA.
