I find inspiration in the natural world. I love color and I create big flower gardens every summer, playing with color that way. Living as I do on the Maine coast, I get to see many kinds of light. I think that my appreciation of light and color helps inform my creativity in designing glass jewelry because glass is all about the interplay of light. I even need to put a little transparency into my soap just to pretty it up and let the user pick it up and view it backlit by the sun.

Description of work

My soaps are vegetable based, handmade in small batches and carefully formulated using the finest skin conditioning ingredients including glycerin and superfatting oils like olive oil and cocoabutter to soften the skin and prevent drying. I use essential oils that are taken directly from flowers, fruits, and plants to create scents that are clean and wonderfully aromatic, not perfumey.

I also design and make glass and pearl jewelry incorporating beads collected over 25 years from all over the world. Many of the beads are old and rare. The metalwork is handmade of 14K. g.f. or sterling silver.
