Through color and design my art reflects the luxurious nature of silk designs are created from nature and imagination, one of a kind sophisticated wearable art with a touch of innocence. Each piece is created to be worn and enjoyed.

Description of work

The technique is called "Serti", which uses a "gutta resist" for drawing the designs onto the white silk.
The resist acts as a damn around the drawn design. The silk is then stretched onto frames and painted using a technique similar to watercolor . The type of dye used is highly concentrated and must be diluted before use. From these dyes I custom mix my colors. After the painting is completed and the fabric is dry it is then steamed for 4 hours to bond the dyes to the fiber. The fabric is then washed to remove any excess dye. At this point, the painted pieces are ready to be cut and sewn into the individual garments and accessories originally envisioned. I create all of the pieces myself. There is no production work, each piece is individually hand drawn and handpainted. I create clothing, scarves and purses.
