The spirit dolls are the result of my longstanding fascination with myth and story, and my desire to celebrate the human spirit, especially as it is embodied in women of the world, and also to affirm a strong sense of connection with the natural world and the skills of women’s hands. They are one result of my long journey to find connection with my past and with a spiritual center.
Jewelry and Teeshirts allow the wearers to celebrate their fabulous bodies and spirits by adorning themselves!

 

Description of Work:

Spirit Figures have soft bodies of silk or velvet filled and weighted with poly. The faces and hands are sculpted of polymer clay and painted. The figures are decorated with fine fabrics and fashioned or found objects.
Jewelry is new this year, and is also of polymer clay, modeled, molded and painted.
Tee shirts are heat transfers of digitally altered sacred images from around the world.
Sweater ornaments are hand-knit from mohair and novelty yarns.
